MORTGAGE SALE/FORECLOSURES PARALEGAL POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Our client is currently seeking a full-time Mortgage Sale/Foreclosure Paralegal for an extremely busy practice. RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: . Scheduling of appointments and preparing correspondence and compiling briefs . Responsible to conduct mortgage sale/foreclosure proceeding files from conflict searches and file opening through to sale of properties, CMHC Claims, billing and closing of files . Liaise with clients, colleagues, mortgagors, realtors, property managers, property appraisers, auctioneers and other professionals in a respectful manner . Preparing for lawyer's review, all necessary paperwork, including; demand letters, Notices Exercising Power of Sale, Applications for Order for Sale, mortgage sale-specific transfer documents on sale of properties and Discharges . Conduct searches of public registries as needed, including title searches, property tax searches and Companies Office searches . Prepare Statements of Account pursuant to the Tariff of Costs under The Real Property Act . Providing efficient, accurate and knowledgeable support to the legal department . Data entry, cheque requests, document revisions, faxing, copying and mailing documents EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: . 5+ years' experience in Mortgage Sale/Foreclosures proceedings . Legal administration diploma and/or legal assistant certificate . Experience in Real Estate and Bankruptcy is considered an asset . Experience working with FCT's Collectlink system is considered an asset . Prioritization skills are critical along with a high attention to detail . Knowledge of government regulations . Ability to work independently and maintain a high volume caseload while meeting various deadlines and timelines . Knowledge with billing and accounting systems . Provide quality legal services through the production of quality, accurate work . Sound judgment in high-pressure situations . Superior communication and organization skills along with a positive attitude . Ability to work effectively as a team player with all levels of individuals within the firm . Proficiency Windows Applications .
