Director of Security THE OPPORTUNITY Our client is seeking a Director of Security to join their team. The Director of Security plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the protection, safeguarding and security of company assets; designs, implements and monitors security policies, procedures and programs; and exercises independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS . Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in security, risk management or related field . Bachelor's degree in business administration, criminal justice, security or a related field, or equivalent education . Record of accomplishment of driving improved levels of efficiency rapidly and effectiveness through process redesign . In-depth understanding of applicable regulations, laws, risk management, security procedure, policy, protocol and emergency response planning . Expertise in relevant technology and equipment . Transformative, influential leader with a proven ability to motivate others and manage rapid change . Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills . High level of personal integrity, together with the demonstrated ability to professionally and maturely handle confidential matters . Experience with contract and vendor negotiations Responsibilities . Develop, implement, and manage an enterprise-wide corporate security strategy in compliance with industry requirements . Maintain relationships with local, provincial and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies . Seek and deploy state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard assets and property . Oversee and coordinate security efforts across the company . Develop network access and monitoring policies. . Oversee network of vendors who secure company assets . Prepare reports and records for management team . Develop, implement and manage security training . Oversee safeguarding of intellectual property and computer systems . Prepare and review budget and financial estimates and reports to ensure security operational efficiency . Develop risk management assessments . Conduct, supervise and prepare reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of company regulations, policies and procedures . Lead the planning, updating and implementation of the Emergency Response Procedures, Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan .
