Our client, the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation, is seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership under the strategic direction of the Board of Directors. This role will be instrumental in leading the sustainability, quality service, and setting precedent across Canada for the corporation. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the management and overseeing all operations of the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation with an over $13M operating budget and over 30 full time staff. The Executive Director participates in all Board meetings, providing input to the strategic directions, vision, mission and goals of the organization. The Executive Director then ensures that the goals are implemented and that work is done within the Board approved strategic plan and annual budget. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES . Manage the team on a daily basis involving approving hours of work, answering staff questions, problem solving, performance reviews, etc. . Review financials with the accountant; ensuring a strong financial cash position for the corporation, providing direction and support, working with the bank, knowledge of investments, and reporting monthly to the Board of Directors . Conduct strategic planning initiatives taking on the writing of the plan, ensuring Board participation and feedback is gathered from members, coordinate strategic planning facilitators when required, always moving the corporation forward in a successful manner . Build strong Government relationships involving attending events, meeting with government officials such as Ministers, and inviting government contacts to the corporations events. . Coordinate and facilitate the Board of Directors meetings; participating in discussions, preparing the agenda, and providing reports on the corporation for the Boards review . Network with individuals across Canada in the community, similar industries and organizations in housing, social services, and regional health authorities; in order to spread awareness of Winnipeg initiatives and to learn about what is going on in other cities, and to exchange information and mentorships . Understand the building codes, capital projects, and changes to support the staff team; always learning and updating knowledge of building codes and changes in the industry SKILLS & ABILITIES . 8-10 years' experience in a similar role . Bachelor degree in Business/Project Management or similar experience . Must possess strong project management experience . Demonstrate a passion for social services, project management, building and housing development, and community involvement . Union negotiations experience an asset . Must take initiative and be responsive . Able to motivate and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment . Passionate about mentorship and coaching . Entrepreneurial spirit, warm personality, people oriented, and creative .
