Peak of the Market is seeking a Director Business Development to develop and identify opportunities with current customers and grow new opportunities. Reporting to the Vice President Sales, the Director Business Development will play a crucial role in the long-term continued growth of Peak of the Market as it expands its client base across Canada and into the United States. Continue to develop the Peak of the Market brand and build awareness in the North American market . Seek opportunities for growth related to other revenue sources (i.e. cross dock, regrading, storage, custom work, etc.) . Develop a deep understanding of clients' business models, their overall goals, their business needs and discover opportunities to build further partnerships . Lead the development and implementation of customer specific programs to help increase sales . Work closely with potential customers to initiate potential business opportunities, following up frequently to ensure business retention . Present Peak of the Market solutions and services to clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, video or web meetings, telephone calls and emails. . Have direct responsibly for a list of customers . Research and present to senior management new opportunities that are in alignment with Peak of the Market strategies . Define key metrics of success and work with Vice President Sales, Sales Manager and Sales team to build processes . Maintain a high degree of knowledge of Peak of the Market and its Growers, as well as industry trends . Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Finance on developing sound sales strategies and ensure priorities and objectives are aligned Experience & Qualifications . Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing or another related discipline . 8 - 10 years professional sales experience . Polished and professional business approach . Strong oral and written communication skills . Highly developed presentation skills . Demonstrated customer focus and strong relationship building skills . Demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills . Motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit . Demonstrated computer proficiency - Microsoft Office suite, email, internet, and capable of online research .
